(FREE GENERIC FIRMWARE)
This is a (freedom) DOWNGRADE to the GENERIC firmware version: V2.05.C17GVD in which the ANNEX M is optional (Forthnet's standard and unchangeable option, over NON Forthnet) and you have the device's full power, without any restrictions, it accepts YOUR (any) CONFIGURATION, and it replaces the Forthnet's logo (or any other logo) with the TECHNICOLOR's logo. Also, it removes the "user", the "forthnet", and any other preset usernames from the current Forthnet (or other ISP) version. It is a very useful firmware for those who want to use the TECHNICOLOR (or Speedtouch, or Thomson) TD5130 with any ISP, in any country (OTE, HOL, Vodafon, OI, Velox, Plus, CYTA, Panafon, Compulink, GR-Net, SparkNet, etc. etc.), and of course it is a must for the Thomson (or Speedtouch, or Technicolor) TG585 V7 & V8 fanatics, who want to upgrade their old devices to something better, more stable, and faster!
Despite with the older models, here, finally, you will not need some external setup software for the firmware upgrade. Just use the "Firmware Upgrade" menu.
After the FIRMWARE UPGRADE is finished, you MUST press the RESET BUTTON of the router for 8 secs. When it (re)starts type:
USE as USERNAME:
and as PASSWORD:
You can change this username & password later, from the MAINTENANCE menu to what you like.
After that, use the SETUP WIZARD/SETUP utility (even if you're an expert), to configue your device, and in seconds you are ready to surf at a HIGHER SPEED, with at least 2,5MBPS more and above your past (Annex A/L/M) connection speed, with an AMAZING STABILITY.
The TECHNICOLOR TD5130 is tested for 36+ hours by me with all the possible configurations, including WI-FI (channel 13 is the best) and, I must say, is an excellent price/quality choice, far better than any Speetouch or Technicolor or Thomson TGxxx (and not only) far stable and far faster!
